Palace " Pedrinho The Osório " - State School " Carlos Kluwe " - current Secretary of Bage Culture





This building was built in the early 20th century by the physician, Dr. Pedro Osório ( 1901). You do not have accurate information about the authorship of the project. Some say Peter Obino. It is a neoclassical style building, marble trimmed, stained glass and iron. These statues are cast iron and were placed in the entrance porch, a few years after the completion of the work. Pedro Osorio was in love with trees. Next to the mansion, he planted a grove, which is still a source of pride for the city. He was the son of Pedro Luiz Osório, brother Manoel Luiz Osório - Marques de Herval. He studied medicine in Paris, at the Sorbonne, graduating in 1882. He began his medical life, in Bage, the following year. It is also dedicated to literature, and published in 10 years, the controversial book 'Religious Lies''. He was married, first wife, with Maria Joaquina Suarez. After the death if his wife married with Faustina Contreiras Osorio. He did not have children in both marriages. In 1918, the South Mail published a note about his Coal employees: "The illustrious countryman Pedro Osório has just given the most beautiful and striking example we know of. Not only of our country but throughout the continent. The detachment act of this man is huge! Pedro Osório took the lives of 300 employees. The benefit provided for him, and only hurt your particular economy because imports a likely decline in profits, not hurts asked" He died on October 23, 1922, of pneumonia, in Rio de Janeiro.
Carlos Antonio Kluwe - Born in Passo do Valente, municipality of Bage, on January 3, 1890. He was the son of John Henry Kluwe and D. Taurine Kluwe. At six years old he moved to San Sebastian, where he remained until 1904. He lived there in '' House of Chains', which is on the edge of Bage road - Lavras. Shortly thereafter, it was to Seival, municipality of Lavras do Sul. In 1908 he returned to Bage and then went to Porto Alegre, to study how was your dream. He realized the secondary in Brazilian School, directed by Ignatius Mountain. Then he joined the Faculty of Medicine, where he graduated in March 20, 1915. Enthusiastic for the sport participated in the founding of the Sport Club Internacional, debuting as an athlete (in center position - middle) in September 1909. Known as '' German '', played until 1915. After graduating he continued as director of football, until 1919. Formed came practice medicine in Lavras and in 1918 returned to Porto Alegre, where he stayed until 1921. After the re-democratization of Brazil, was elected Mayor whose post he held from 1948 to 1951. Initially, it was the Liberator Party and the political reorganization of Brazil in 1945, he joined the Social Democratic Party. He conceived and founded the Society Assis Brazil Rural Education (SABER) - 1947). Created also the Municipal Gym Free, which later was taken over by the state. Today the State Escol Dr. Carlos Kluwe continues to provide the role that was designed by Dr. Kluwe Married Iracema Teixeira, born in Porto Alegre. She had three children: Gilda, Joseph and Gilca. In the 20s, his office, laboratory and residence, faced the street General Osório, next to People's Typography (corner with street Salgado Filho). Then he lived on the street Costábile Hippolytus.
