According to research by the late Colonel Murilo Budó, this house was built by the physician Augusto Lúcio Figueiredo Teixeira *, Intendant of Bage, in the period 1905-1909.
Curiosity is what Dr. Lucius failed to live in the house. His wife, upon arriving in Rio de Janeiro and faced with the 'eagle surmounted the building' ', refused to move. He considered this allegory a '' bad omen ''.
The house was sold. The family moved to Rio de Janeiro.

* Lúcio Figueiredo Augusto Teixeira - Born in Campos, Rio de Janeiro, on May 19 in 186 (?). He began his studies in the former Federal Capital, the School of Medicine, concluding at the Faculty of Bahia, where his degree in 1889.
He joined the Army Medical Corps and in 1890 came to Bage. Married to Corina bageense Silveira (daughter of Placido Silveira). Initially purchased a house in General Osório (now the police station). Herença received in 1906, a house that was on this site. Demolished and then built this house, but sold it soon after.
In addition to his activities as a military doctor, he attended private practice and the Holy House of Charity.
His political life was the most intense. Elected member of the Municipal Council, chaired the 1897 organ to 1901. Appointed deputy mayor, he served from 1901 to 1905. He was then elected Intendant, exercising this function until 1909.
He was largely responsible for afforestation street Sete de Setembro and Genetal Osorio.
